Learn how to create authentic Italian cuisine from scratch, using big flavours with even bigger portions of laughter and love!
Detailed description:This cookalong experience is about the beautiful simplicity of flavours at the heart of Italian heritage. Nona’s is light hearted, mischievous and has cheeky teaching style, which encourages even uninspired chefs to create food that’s full of character. The cookalong is open to any level: beginners or specialists. Nona welcomes you all!
Guests will create a variety of classic hand-made Italian pasta dishes (including some secret family recipes). Rich ragus, hearty tagliatelle, ravioli and classic spaghettis have been on our previous menus. Nothing compliments an Italian meal like finishing on a sweet note with an espresso and delicious dessert…so Nona will lead you through through making these too. Our dessert menus so far have featured delicious tiramisu, creamy panna cotta and decadent dark chocolate panettone.
Ciao!!! I’m Sara from Tuscany, Italy. I was raised by my Nona (grandma) Maria and have been cooking with her since, well - forever! Theres something extra special about seeing her come alive in her kitchen and its the place we have the best of our memories together.
Pasta is a staple for us and a rich part of our history like so many in Italy, and the Italians around the world. It is a dish that brings us all together and is now doing the same for so many non-Italians too! It’s one of the only real ‘global' dishes to break cooking cultures.
My grandmother doesn’t speak much English so my role is translator and timekeeper more than anything! Nona loves to have a good chat (even if you don’t understand Italian!) - so you’ll feel at home.
I’m so proud to share Nona’s skills with you. She was VERY nervous when I suggested we try hosting online classes as she’s very new to modern technology. But after some weeks of sweet treats, she and we are here and she now loves the camera! She is fascinated by interacting with people from all corners of the planet to do what she calls ‘celebrating good food and love’. So, come say hello!
