Whether you’re new here, visiting for a few days, or even a seasoned Londoner - soak up the rich history of the capital adventuring its backstreets. These include some that have been favourited over the years by the likes of the Royal Family, the Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix!
Detailed description:Discover the Soho and Covent Garden areas through a unique twist on the ‘pub tour’ concept. This is a perfect activity for people wanting to combine the amazing music & entertainment heritage of central London by visiting some of its hidden gems.
You can sit, drink and make memories in the very venues that some of the most famous musicians, artists, performers, playwrights & deep thinkers did! Check out where the Beatles recorded Hey Jude, where the Rolling Stones started their legacy, where Jimi Hendrix partied hard + the pub where The Who are banned for life!
As you walk the streets of Covent Garden, Soho & Mayfair, you’ll see iconic sights along the way such as the Royal Opera House, Neals Yard & Piccadilly Circus. I’ll share some of the history and stories of each place: all done with a refreshing drink in-hand. I’m a beer lover myself, but whatever your tipple… a cheers will always welcome you!
Hi, I am Matthew, a born and bred Londoner (which is in fact quite a rare thing to be here these days). I am a trained stage actor, performance artist and a bit of an all-round entertainer.
I have been performing professionally in plays and shows for the past seven years now. The majority of the theatres and venues I perform in have been based in the heart of central London. So: I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to uncover and get to know the treasure chest of pubs, bars and drinking spots that the city has hiding from the noise and mayhem. Some of these have played home to the most surprising and iconic music & entertainment stories that exist.
When I’m not on stage, I love spending time with friends and making new ones. The way I love to do this is being in the thick of the city and in its best spots. This is where the most beautiful characters and personalities live!
I decided to turn this personal passion of mine into more of an official ‘string to my bow’ three years ago. I knew how many generic, same-same tours and pub / bar crawls were out there, I, like most people find these incredibly boring and far from authentic. I realised what was missing, was something that broke the mould of the dull walking tour, or your standard drinking tour that often involves nothing but booze. So, offering people something innovative, that was a meaningful mix of culture, history AND drink became my concept or ‘vision’. Now…here it is!
